CPVC Resin

Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride is a thermoplastic produced by chlorination of polyvinyl chloride resin, which is significantly more flexible, stronger and can withstand higher temperatures than standard PVC.

CPVC Resin is used to make pipes for supply of hot and cold water in domestic and industrial applications.



CPVC Compound Granules

CPVC Compound

CPVC compound is a mixture of CPVC Resin and few additives. Additives helps in processing of CPVC resin in machine environment where it has to bear high temperatures, friction, shear and strain. CPVC compound can be used directly in extrusion and moulding process. Compound users can make Pipes without technical expertise of formulation and mixing equipment.

Impact Modifiers

Impact Modifier

Impact Modifiers are polymers, which are used to enhance mechanical strength of the product. Main polymers are MBS and Acrylic, which are used as impact modifier.

Chlorinated Poly Ethylene (CPE)

CPE 135

CPE is chlorinated variant of Polyethylene which has rubber like properties. It has 30-35% chlorine content.

CPE is used in PVC to increase its impact resistance. CPE is inexpensive material and widely used in PVC pipes and other PVC applications to increase mechanical strength.

CPE is also used in rubbers to enhance filler coupling and cross linking.



Processing Aids

As the name suggests, Processing Aids are polymers which are used to help PVC, CPVC in processing.

Processing Aids are classified on the basis of their molecular weight. Different Processing Aid has different role in different applications.

Processing Aid helps in flow and fusion of polymer while processing. It also helps in surface finish of the product.



Tin Stabilizers

Tin-Stabilizer

It's tin metal based stabilizer, suitable for wide applications of PVC. Its known for its excellent heat stability and maintaining the transparency of the product.

Tin Stabilizers gives very good early colour and long term stability to PVC. Tin Stabilizers used in PVC food packaging material as they are considered as safe for health and environment.

Lead Stabilizers

Lead Stabilizer

Lead Stabilizers are traditional stabilizers and known for their excellent heat stability and cost effectiveness.

Lead Stabilizers are widely used in PVC Pipes, PVC Foam Boards and other PVC rigid applications.

Use of lead stabilizer is being discouraged these days as Lead is considered as hazardous element for health. Many countries have stopped the use lead based products. Indian Government has also taken few steps to limit the use of lead.



Calcium Zinc Stabilizers

Calcium Zin Stabilizers are compounds of Calcium, Zinc and few organic based components. Ca-Zn Stabilizers are heavy metal free stabilizers and considered to be safe for health and the environment.

Ca-Zn Stabilizers have applications in both rigid and soft applications. It is used in PVC Cable insulation, PVC rigid & flexible Pipes, Foam Boards, Profiles, Sheets etc.



Hybrid Stabilizes

Hybrid Stabilizers are alternative to lead stabilizers which has low lead content comparative to lead stabilizers. These stabilizers are known as low lead stabilizers.

Hybrid Stabilizers are blend of lead and organic stabilizers. So these stabilizers are less harmful to the environment than conventional lead stabilizers. In spite of low lead content, Hybrid Stabilizers gives excellent heat stability.

Hybrid Stabilizers are developed by Platinum Industries under supervision of Dr. Michael Schiller. They have developed different grades as per the requirement of the Industry.



Titanium Dioxide

Titanium Dioxide

Titanium Dioxide is a whitening and opacifying agent. Titanium Dioxide a purified form of naturally occurring ore of Titanium Dioxide called as Ilmenite.

Titanium Dioxide is used in many applications like Paint, Ink, Polymers, Pharma, Food etc.

There are two type of Titanium Dioxides available. One is rutile and another one is anatase. Rutile is more popular in Polymer industry due to its weather resistance property.

As the name suggests, Antioxidants prevents the oxidation hence enhances the life.

Antioxidants helps in polymer processing in high temperatures. Polymers tends to degrade at high temperatures. Antioxidants prevent it from thermal oxidation and protect the polymer from thermal degradation and discoloration.

There are different Antioxidants available for different polymers.



Waxes

Waxes and Lubricants

Wax helps polymers in processing and surface finish. It forms lubrication layer between PVC and machine hence reduces the friction and increase the flow of the PVC resin.

Wax works as an external lubricant, most commonly used waxes are PE wax, Paraffin Wax etc.



Stearic Acid

Stearic Acid

Similar to waxes, stearic acid also works as lubricant. But it works as an internal lubricant. As it works as internal lubricant, It reduces the friction between PVC molecules, and decreases the melt viscosity and increases the flow.

Apart from lubrication, Stearic Acid gives good heat and light stability.

Apart from PVC industry, widely used in cosmetics, plastic cold-resistant plasticizers, mould release agents, stabilizers, surfactants, rubber vulcanization accelerators, waterproofing agents, polishing agents, metal soaps, metal mineral flotation agents, softeners, pharmaceuticals and other organic chemicals.



Silane Coupling Agents

Silane coupling agents are compounds whose molecules contain functional groups that bond with both organic and inorganic materials. A silane coupling agent acts as a sort of intermediary which bonds organic materials to inorganic materials.

This property makes silane coupling agents useful for improving the mechanical strength of composite materials, for improving adhesion, and for resin modification and surface modification.



Grafted Polymers

Grafted Polymer

Grafted Polymers are co polymers which has reactive functional group grafted over linear backbone of polymeric chain. Grafted Polymers are used for compatibilization of two or more non compatible polymers and binding of inorganic fillers or additives with polymer.

Grafted Polymers are used as coupling agent in filler compounds where reinforcement filler like glass, talc, calcium etc are need to be loaded. Also, it enhances dispersion of inorganic additives like FR additives, pigments etc.

Grafted Polymers are used as modifiers. One can modify physical properties like impact, tensile, elongation etc using grafted polymer.

Flame retardants are used to reduce the flammability of plastic materials. These additives serve to make ignition of plastics more difficult, inhibit the combustion process, and limit heat release.

Flame retardants are added to plastic materials to meet the flammability standards for applications such as electrical and electronic components, building and construction materials, automotive and aviation, and shipping pallets. Along with complementary technologies like smoke detectors and sprinkler systems, flame retardants make an important contribution to fire safety.
